CORVALLIS – Despite some of the youth, inexperience and injuries that have defined stretches of the Oregon State season, Washington State head coach Mike Leach came away impressed with the Beavers.
The Cougars reached the AP Top 25 poll after beating OSU 35-31 on Saturday at Reser Stadium. They trailed 21-0 midway through the second quarter and 24-6 at halftime before dominating the third quarter 22-0 and completing the comeback from a double-digit deficit.
The victory kept WSU alive in its chase for a Pac-12 North title, while OSU moved into a tie with Oregon for last in the division.
