McLaughlin scores career-high 23 in Classic finale

PORTLAND, Ore. – Freshman guard JaQuori McLaughlin scored a career-high 23 points on Sunday to lead Oregon State in a 53-45 loss to Portland in the finale of the Dam City Classic.

McLaughlin's previous best was 16 points, in Friday's night's game with Long Beach State in OSU's Classic opener. He hit four 3-pointers, made eight shots from beyond the arc and scored 39 points in the two games at the Moda Center.

Sophomore guard Stephen Thompson Jr. added 12 points, giving him 29 for the weekend. However, the rest of the team combined for only 10 points in OSU's first game under 50 points since a 75-48 loss at Stanford on Feb.
