Mazon, Hammoude Named All-Americans

CORVALLIS – Oregon State superstars Mariah Mazon and Frankie Hammoude have both been named All-Americans, by Softball America, the site announced Thursday morning. Mazon made the All-America First Team, while Hammoude made the Third Team.

A threat both in the circle and in the batters' box, Mazon set the Oregon State career strikeouts record Friday at Stanford in the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament, surpassing OSU legend Brianne McGowan in the record books. The record holder now has 861 strikeouts and counting. Mazon has amassed 17 wins and three saves in 35 appearances this season, and has 220 strikeouts on the campaign – the fifth-best total in program history.
