CORVALLIS — Matt Boyd was back in familiar territory Friday, sporting an orange and black Oregon State cap while watching the Beavers' first practice of 2016.
The appearance in Corvallis comes following an eventful 2015 for the former OSU standout, who made his Major League debut for the Toronto Blue Jays in June and then was dealt to the Detroit Tigers as part of the blockbuster David Price trade. In his rookie season, Boyd went 1-6 with a 7.53 ERA.
Boyd talked with The Oregonian/OregonLive about his rookie season and the relationship he still has with the Beavers program.
