HENDERSON, Nev. – Sophomore Mateo Fuenmayor finished day one at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate at 4-under par to finish in a tie for fifth in the first day of action at the three-day event.
The tournament is being held at the par-72, 7,204-yard Reflection Bay Golf Club. Fuenmayor leads the Beavers, who finished day one at par, totaling 288.
The 4-under par 68 tied the best round of Fuenmayor's Oregon State career, equaling his third round at the 2021 Seattle U. Redhawk Invitational.
The Beaverton, Ore., knocked down six birdies on Monday, including three straight at holes 5 (par 4), 6 (par 5) and 7 (par 4).
