Oregon State assistant women's basketball coach Mandy Close is stepping down from her position, the program announced Friday afternoon.
Close cited personal reasons for her departure, noting in a statement that she is getting married to former Beavers football player Taylor Kavanaugh this summer and that they "plan to travel, rejuvenate, and spend time in thought and prayer about our next steps as a couple."
"Coaching at Oregon State the past three years has unequivocally been one of the most rewarding times in my life," Close said. "I am honored to have been a part of the special program that Scott Rueck has created here in Corvallis.
