Susac, 26, would have an excellent chance to be a starting catcher in the major leagues right now were he not in the same organization as Buster Posey. As it is, most expected Susac to serve as the former National League MVP’s backup this season, but the Giants shipped him to Triple-A Sacramento to begin the season. It probably doesn’t help Susac’s cause that the man who got the backup gig instead, Trevor Brown, has homered three times in eight at-bats.
Anderson, 26, missed the entire 2015 season with an injury to his pitching elbow, so good health was the first thing the left-hander needed to reestablish himself as a top prospect in 2016.
