The Oregon State Beavers football program has started the coach Jonathan Smith era 1-5, but the early signs, particularly on offense, are positive.
And recruits are taking notice.
During last weekend's 56-37 loss to Washington State, several prospects were on hand to become better acquainted with the program.
For 247Sports three-star tight end Kyle Patterson, the trip was a success.
"I loved the trip," he said. "It was really beautiful up there. What mostly stood out was probably the people, and just the overall vibe of the school. The student section was amazing, and the coaches even more so.
