The Beavers have picked up another competitor for their special teams unit, as Kicker Jake Scarton from Pittsburgh announced he was transferring to Oregon State. Scarton was a walk on at Pitt, after attending Hickory High School in Hermitage, PA. He redshirted his first season in 2017, and last year served as the team’s holder for 13 games.
Scarton was involved in a bit of controversy last year that may have influenced his decision to leave Pitt. Scarton was injured in an off campus fight the week before the Panthers game against Penn State, and couldn’t play.
