During 11-on-11 work, freshman cornerback Christian Wallace — who is eligible to practice now after missing the 2016 season due to academics — and early-enrollee freshman Isaiah Hodgins got into a brief scuffle. It was short-lived and harmless, as defensive players were laughing and fired up after the breakup. And coaches were just fine with the extracurricular activity.
“The perception is that receivers and corners are the prima donnas, kind of the ones who don’t want to mix it up, don’t want to be physical,” cornerbacks coach Cory Hall said. “… what I want to make sure is the identity out here in the secondary is aggressive and that they’re confident.
