Former Oregon State star cornerback Steven Nelson didn't play much during his rookie season with Kansas City.
Nelson, playing behind Pro Bowl cornerbacks Marcus Peters, Sean Smith and Philip Gaines, appeared in 12 games, but most of his time on the field was playing on special teams during the 2015 season. Nelson will have a chance to earn more time on the field in 2016. On defense.
Smith is in Oakland after signing a free agent deal with the Raiders. Gaines is still rehabbing a torn ACL he sustained during the 2015 season.
