Oregon State Defensive Coordinator and former BYU fullback Kalani Sitake is about to become the Beavers' former Defensive Coordinator, and the new head coach of the Cougars, replacing Bronco Mendenhall, who departed to take the job at Virginia.
Sitake becomes the first alum that played under legendary BYU coach Lavell Edwards to be hired as the head coach in Provo, though its not a program that sees much turnover, or many losses for that matter.
Both Vanquish The Foe and the Salt Lake Desert News are reporting the hire will be announced shortly, probably is conjunction with today's Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl that pits BYU against arch-rival Utah.
