The Oregon State Beavers entered the week with an unconventional recruiting class, consisting of 13 traditional commitments, a greyshirt prospect, a pledge returning from an LDS Mission and four transfers.
On Monday, Jonathan Smith and his coaching staff added to that collection of talent with unrated junior college defensive tackle Jordan Whittley, who chose the Beavers over offers from Hawaii, New Mexico, San Diego State, San Jose State, UAB and UCF.
The 6-foot-2, 320-pound defensive tackle, out of Laney College (Richmond, California), announced his decision on Twitter:
