LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Sophomore Jordan Jones scored his seventh goal of the season, but it was not enough for the Oregon State men’s soccer team, as the Beavers were defeated 4-1 by No. 19 UCLA Friday afternoon in Los Angeles.
Jones’ strike came in the 85th minute when he headed home a cross form fellow sophomore Timmy Mueller. Jones and Mueller have now combined to score 13 of Oregon State’s 16 goals this season.
Oregon State (7-8-1, 2-5-1 Pac-12) found itself behind early, when UCLA (9-7-1, 4-3-1) found the net in the 27th minute on a shot that was nearly saved by sophomore goalkeeper Nolan Wirth.
