Jonathan Smith staying in touch with Ryan Nall on decision for next season

Less than two weeks since Jonathan Smith was named Oregon State head football coach, he estimated he's had up to two dozen one-on-one conversations with players on his roster.

Some have been in his new office, while others have been less formal in the hallways of the Valley Football Center. Among the players to get early face time with their new coach is running back Ryan Nall, the multi-year centerpiece of the OSU offense who will have the option of returning, going pro or transferring as a graduate student.

"(After) the first team meeting, we were able to catch up one-on-one for a little bit and we were able to catch up a couple days later in my office for a little bit," Smith told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Friday.
