It's not unusual for junior college prospects to handle their recruitment differently than high school players, and that has certainly been the case for defensive lineman/outside linebacker Jonathan Kongbo, 247Sports' top-rated junior college prospect.
So while Beaver fans saw Washington's 52-7 shellacking of Oregon State as a bad sign for a big recruiting weekend, the 6-foot-6, 265-pound four-star talent saw an opportunity.
"Oregon State is definitely up there in my recruiting," he said. "I really like the opportunity of early playing time."
That factor didn't just play out in front of him on the field, but was also a selling point from the Beavers coaching staff during Kongbo's weekend trip.
