The Oregon State Beavers have six commitments in the class of 2018 and hope to add 10 more pledges to close things out.

But even with double-digit scholarships to dole out, Gary Andersen and his coaching staff haven't forgotten to continue recruiting the players already in the fold.

Scout three-star tight end Isaiah Smalls, who committed to the Beavers in early August, found that out Saturday just prior to the season opener against Colorado State.

Checking his mailbox, the 6-foot-4, 234-pound pass-catcher, out of Dorsey High School (Los Angeles, California), found 19 hand-written letters from coaching staff waiting for him:
