Is Jonathan Smith a good hire for the Oregon State Beavers football program?

Jonathan Smith will return to the Oregon State Beavers in a feel-good hire amid the whirlwind coaching carousel of the college football season.

Smith's coaching bona fides are solid.

He's been on the Washington Huskies staff for the past six seasons and as their offensive coordinator, he's helped lead the team to 10-2 and 12-2 records in the last two seasons, respectively.

His career started as a graduate assistant at Oregon State (2002-2003) and quarterbacks coach at Idaho (2004-2009), QB coach and offensive coordinator at Montana (2010-2011) and quarterbacks coach at Boise State (2012-2013) before he re-joined Petersen at Washington in 2014.
