Heimlich’s Sharp As Beavers End Trip With Win

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Luke Heimlich tossed seven scoreless innings and the fifth-ranked Oregon State baseball team concluded its eight-game to Arizona with a 3-1 win over Kansas Sunday at Surprise Stadium.

Heimlich, making his second start of the season and fourth of his career, held the Jayhawks to four hits and a walk. The lefty struck out three, threw 102 pitches and earned the victory to improve to 2-0 this season.

Max Engelbrekt, who earned his fourth save of the season, got the Beavers out of a jam in the eighth.
