Hamblin Named Candidate For Senior CLASS Award

CORVALLIS – Oregon State center Ruth Hamblin has been selected as a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award, the award’s foundation announced today.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

Hamblin was a consensus preseason All-American headed into the 2015-16 campaign and has continued to build on an impressive career that saw her earn Pac-12 Player of the Year (media) honors last season. The 6-foot-6 Canadian, who was named to the Naismith Trophy Early Season Watch List in December, is the NCAA’s active career leader in blocked shots with 344, a mark that is also second in Pac-12 history.
