Oregon State offensive lineman Gus Lavaka has been named a Freshman All-American by Pro Football Focus.
Pro Football Focus is a website that evaluates NFL and college players using a variety of advanced analytics. Here's what the site said about Lavaka:
"Two monster Pac-12 guards led the way among true freshmen this season, as Lavaka graded at 73.7 overall and (Stanford's Nate) Herbig came in at 70.8. Lavaka allowed only four pressures, all hurries, while ranking third among all freshman guards with a 73.7 run block grade, while Herbig allowed only a sack and three hurries after taking over as starter in Week 7.
