The Portland Interscholastic League greets 47 former athletes and coaches to its Hall of Fame on Sunday. The newcomers, 41 living and six deceased, graduated between 1931 and 2005 from Portland high schools. Here is this year’s Hall of Fame class:
Of note: Brauckmiller played pro baseball in The Netherlands for 16 years; he had a career batting average of .341 and ERA of 3.19. Brauckmiller’s father, Tom (Benson, 1958) and brother Kurt (Benson, 1981) are also in the PIL Hall of Fame.
