Few gave Oregon State much of a chance against No. 20 Stanford heading into Thursday night's Pac-12 football matchup at Reser Stadium in Corvallis.
Then, about two hours before kickoff, Stanford announced that star running back Bryce Love wouldn't play. Love was out with an ankle injury.
Then, as the game wore on, it was clear that OSU's ball-control offense, and its stingy defense, just might give the Beavers a chance. Interim coach Cory Hall was fired up, running and jumping, all the way up and down the sideline.
Oregon State led 7-6 at halftime, and 14-9 heading to the fourth quarter.
