San Diego, Calif. – The Oregon State men’s rowing team raced three boats at the San Diego Crew Classic this weekend with the Beavers Third Varsity 8 earning silver medal finishes on Sunday in the Novice Grand Final.
The Beavers’ 3V8, which consists entirely of freshmen, blew the competition out of the water Saturday with a time of 6-minutes, 29.328-seconds outracing second-place Santa Clara by more than 17-seconds. On Sunday, the frosh crew rowed to the medal stand recording a time of 6:26.221, coming in behind only California and seven seconds ahead of third-place Michigan and the rest of the field.
