Freshmen Christian Wallace, Isaac Garcia not with Oregon State for start of fall camp

BEND — Oregon State is without two of its more highly touted incoming freshmen for the start of fall camp, as cornerback Christian Wallace and defensive end/linebacker Isaac Garcia are completing academic requirements, coach Gary Andersen told The Oregonian/OregonLive Saturday.

Andersen said he is hopeful that both players will join the Beavers soon.

Wallace, a four-star prospect from Sealy, Texas, participated in the Beavers' summer workouts and "BEST" Bridge academic program, while Garcia, a three-star prospect from Bellevue, Washington, did not. Both players earned praise from Andersen on Signing Day and were listed on OSU's fall camp depth chart, with Garcia occupying the top spot at the hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker position and Wallace taking the fourth-string spot at left cornerback.
