Sean Mannion probably didn't expect to be in his current situation when training camp started.
The former Oregon State star quarterback figured to be a lock as the Los Angeles Rams backup quarterback behind starter Jared Goff for the 2018 season. However, Mannion's dreadful performance in the Rams preseason opener, combined with a surprisingly solid game from Brandon Allen has suddenly thrown the competition for the backup quarterback position up for grabs.
Mannion now finds himself under pressure to produce a solid bounce back performance in the Rams second preseason game Saturday night against the Oakland Raiders.
