The early signing period kicks off Wednesday, giving Oregon State Beavers new head coach Jonathan Smith little time to adjust to his new program and hit the recruiting trail.
However, one focus for Smith that has already become clear is his dedication to recruiting Northwest talent, and Western region prospects in general.
On Monday, Oregon State added Smith's first pledge as head coach, landing the verbal commitment of sleeper three-star wide receiver Jesiah Irish, who is expected to sign with the Beavers this week.
But with that renewed focus has come some changes, as both Texas wide receiver Cameron Thomas and Louisiana speedster Anthony Spurlock are no longer part of Oregon State's class.
