Former Oregon State quarterback Derek Anderson could find himself occupying the center stage on Monday Night Football.
With Carolina Panthers starting quarterback Cam Newton still in the concussion protocol and not practicing, it's increasingly likely Anderson will start when the Panthers face Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football.
Newton suffered a concussion on a second-half hit to the head during Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. According to multiple reports, Newton did not practice Friday and has not practiced since sustaining the concussion. Anderson came on in relief of Newton, and completed 17-of-23 pass attempts for 172 yards and two touchdowns, with two interceptions.
