Derek Anderson's unusual stint with the Buffalo Bills took another unexpected turn this week.
The quarterback is in the league's concussion protocol and is unlikely to play Sunday when the Bills face the Chicago Bears, Bills coach Sean McDermott said. McDermott did not definitely rule out Anderson for Sunday's game. If Anderson can't play, the Bills will turn to Nathan Peterman.
"We'll see where things stand as we go through the week with Derek," McDermott told reporters Tuesday. "Then we'll take it from there."
Anderson suffered the injury after he was sacked by New England Patriots defensive end Kyle Van Noy with two minutes left in the fourth quarter during the Bills 25-6 loss to the Patriots Monday night.
