CORVALLIS-- The reasons for Colorado State to move its contest against Oregon State up to the season opener are obvious.
It allows the Rams to open its new on-campus stadium against a Power 5 opponent. And the fans have responded, with the game already deemed a sellout.
But OSU coach Gary Andersen needed to sign off on the move, too. There are also advantages for the Beavers, the coach said, including the challenge of immediately facing a quality opponent in a charged road environment and the opening of a second bye week on Sept. 23.
"For this team, this schedule is best," Andersen said Tuesday during his weekly press conference.
