It appears that 2017 MLB first-round draft pick, Drew Rasmussen, will in fact return to Oregon State for the 2018 season. Rasmussen did not sign with the Tampa Bay Rays after they selected him with the 31st overall pick. The Rays did not offer him any sort of deal after his post-draft MRI revealed potential complications compared to his pre-draft MRI. Kendall Rogers first revealed the news:
Rasmussen will return to #OregonState for another year, but his availability is TBD given what his latest MRI showed. We’ll see what happens

The other day, Major League Baseball ruled that they would not grant him the option of free agency and so he will not be able to sign with another team.
