Devin Chappell signs UDFA deal with the Kansas City Chiefs

Devin Chappell has signed a free agent deal with the Kansas City Chiefs after going undrafted in the 2017 NFL draft.

Chappell made his way to Oregon State after transferring from Western Oregon University. The hard-hitting safety has often been overlooked in his career by has demonstrated a remarkable work ethic during his time with the Beavers. Chappell started his career as a cornerback but switched to safety and recorded 75 tackles (40 solo), 1 interception and a school-record 6 forced fumbles.

In an interview with nfldraftdiamonds.com, Chappell compared his own style of play to that of Miami Dolphin free safety—and 2015 NFL Pro Bowler—Reshad Jones, saying that “the way he plays is how I try to play”.
