Destiny Slocum's transfer bolsters Oregon State for 2018-19

Oregon State's 2018-19 women's basketball team just got a massive boost.

Destiny Slocum, the point guard who was the WCBA's National Freshman of the Year for Maryland this past season, announced on Twitter that she intends to transfer to the Beavers program.

Slocum, who must sit out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules, cannot immediately fill the void left by departed All-America point guard Sydney Wiese. But the aggressive 5-foot-7 Slocum does give the Beavers another dynamic piece for 2018-19.

By then, Beavers guards Mikayla Pivec and Katie McWilliams will be a junior and senior, respectively, while incoming five-star forward Taya Corosdale and four-star guard Aleah Goodman will each have a season of experience.
