CORVALLIS — Following a 35-31 loss Saturday, Oregon State head coach Gary Andersen surveyed the scene at Reser Stadium and found Washington State linebacker Peyton Pelluer.
The two had a longstanding connection, back to 1995 when Andersen coached with the junior's father, Scott, at Northern Arizona and the younger Pelluer was not even walking. At his Monday news conference after the defeat, Andersen reserved particular credit for the linebacker.
He said Pelluer, among other things, did a "fantastic job" tracking when the Oregon State offense was likely to snap the ball and organizing the Cougars defensive line to shift before the start of the play.
