David Fangupo, Oregon State signee, not yet on campus due to academics as Beavers begin summer workouts

Oregon State took its next step toward the 2016 season over the weekend when it welcomed the bulk of its signing class to campus before the Beavers' rigorous summer workout program begins Monday.

The notable absence is junior college defensive tackle David Fangupo, who has not yet completed the necessary academic requirements to transfer to OSU, coach Gary Andersen told The Oregonian/OregonLive.com. It's possible Fangupo could complete his work and transfer later this summer or during fall camp, though the more likely scenario is for him to arrive in Corvallis in January.

Fangupo, the 350-pounder from Hawaii who is an Internet sensation of sorts because of his past playing a running back, was a late addition to OSU's signing class after originally committing to Utah.
