College football coaching carousel rumors, news 2017: Who's been fired and who's been hired

The college football carousel is in full swing with big-time openings available or rumored to be so very soon.

Already, SEC heavyweights Florida (Jim McElwain) and Tennessee (Butch Jones) let go of their head coaches mid-season, while Oregon State and Gary Andersen parted ways and Mike Riley's seat at Nebraska is reaching molten-hot levels.

LSU Florida Football

Who's out: Jim McElwain. Florida and McElwain "mutually parted ways" after a tumultuous end to his tenure in Gainesville. The former Alabama OC and Colorado State head coach went a 22-12 in nearly three seasons at UF, including a 16-8 mark in SEC play and won the SEC East during his first two seasons with the Gators.
