Few people have a deeper connection with the Civil War than Jim Anderson.
The former Oregon State basketball player, assistant and head coach spent five different decades affiliated with the school, meaning that he was at the center of more than 100 on-court meetings with Oregon. He let his players know that each upcoming contest with the Ducks was "Hell Week," signifying the importance of beating the Beavers' biggest in-state rival.
"It became a personal – not vendetta – but a personal deal," he said. "I'm going to make this a game that's important to everyone that's on the floor.
