wants to turn his career around and help the Bears turn the franchise around in 2017.
The former Oregon State star signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Bears as a free agent in March following a highly disappointing season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2016. Wheaton, 26, says he's ready to be a major contributor to the Bears offense in 2017.
"I'm here to make plays," Wheaton told bears.com. "Where ever (the coaches) can put me to make that happen, that's where they'll put me."
The Bears hope Wheaton will help replace Alshon Jeffery, who signed a free agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
