PORTLAND – Central junior Marlon Tuipulotu picked up wrestling as a way to improve his football skills – strength, balance and technique.

Turns out, his wrestling ability is pretty good, too.

The 6-foot-2 heavyweight, who has football scholarship offers from Arizona, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, USC and a host of others, took an early 4-0 lead, tossing opponent Blayne Burnett of Churchill to the mat, then battled his way to a 5-0 victory Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.

"It means a lot. My coaches helped me get here. I want to thank them, thank my family, thank God," he said.
