The University of Connecticut women's basketball team has won 119 of its last 120 games. It has three straight national titles and in that span, every victory has been by double digits.
Lousy, huh?
Well, the other day the Huskies won a Sweet 16 game against Mississippi State by 60 points, prompting a very good Boston sports columnist named Dan Shaugnessy to lose his mind. He declared UConn bad for the sport.
Shaughnessy tweeted: "Hate to punish them for being great, but they are killing women's game. Watch? No thanks."
I couldn't disagree more.
What UConn is doing under coach Geno Auriemma isn't killing the game -- it's brilliant.
