CORVALLIS – Wednesday is the day of week when local media speaks with Oregon State defensive coaches and players. As this season wears on and statistics pile up against the Beavers, it’s becoming a strained exercise.
In a nutshell, can the 1-6 Beavers show enough improvement on defense during the final five games of the season to make a difference on the scoreboard?
The answer: it’s a process. Defensive coordinator Tim Tibesar pounded the message Wednesday that results are not going to happen overnight for this first-year coaching staff.
Asked if he saw any areas of improvement from the California game given the team had an extra open week to prepare, Tibesar said some in coverage and tackling situations.
