BERKELEY, Calif. – After breaking its 10-game road conference losing streak Thursday, Oregon State became the 17th consecutive team to fall at Haas Pavilion.
California defeated OSU 83-71, knocking the Beavers to 6-7 in conference play and keeping them at eighth place in the Pac-12 standings.
Key run: A Gary Payton II left handed jam cut Oregon State's deficit to 27-23 with five minutes to play in the half. But Cal closed the final stretch before break on a 14-6 run, finished off by a top of the key three-pointer by junior guard Jordan Mathews to extend the lead to double digits at halftime.
