The Case For Crandall: Most people don’t know a thing about Crandall (and probably rightfully so considering the era he played in), but to put it plainly, he could really be described as the Beavers’ first big-time college star. Crandall was the school’s initial 1,000 point scorer, in addition to being named a two-time All-American for Oregon State. Oh yeah, and he led the Beavers to the Final Four in 1949. Not too bad of accolades for a relatively unknown star.
