CORVALLIS – Senior Emma Jones came up with a spectacular golden goal to give the Oregon State women's soccer team a 1-0 double-overtime win over Washington State Sunday afternoon at Lorenz Field.
The goal came in the 102nd minute on a beautiful, curling left-footed effort that found the top corner off a free kick from 20 yards out.
"This was just a battle," said Oregon State head coach Linus Rhode. "I'm so proud of the way our team fought. We knew this would be a physical game without a lot of flow to it, but I thought our players fought like crazy for each other.
