Evanston, Ill. – Oregon State sophomore Ronnie Bresser placed second on Wednesday in the 125-pound weight class at the 53rd annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships at Northwestern University.
Bresser fell 5-1 to Thomas Gilman of Iowa, a Midlands finalist for the third consecutive year, in the championship match. He trailed 2-1 after one period, 3-1 after two periods and then gave up an escape and a riding-time point in the final period.
Bresser advanced to the finals by pinning Tim Lambert of Nebraska in 2:21 in their semifinal match earlier in the day.
