Former Oregon State athletic director Bob De Carolis has been named the executive director of the Willamette Valley chapter of Girls on the Run, the organization announced Tuesday.
"I want to thank the search committee for having confidence in me to be part of its team," De Carolis said in a release. "Additionally, as the organization gets ready to celebrate its 10th year, I would like to thank and congratulate our founding Executive Director, Karen Swanger, and our current Executive Director, Tiffany Bailey, for their tireless effort and relentless dedication to empowering so many young girls."
Decarolis led OSU's athletic department for 13 years, resigning in May of 2015 after university president Ed Ray told him he would not renew his contract beyond 2016.
