CORVALLIS - After two years of struggling see the court following a devastating knee injury, Oregon State power forward Ben Kone will transfer.

Kone announced the decision Wednesday on Twitter, thanking the OSU coaching staff and fans. The team later released a statement saying the two sides "mutually agreed for his transfer prior to next season."

"Saying goodbye to this place is tough, but essential to making my dreams become a reality," Kone wrote. "With that being said I have decided to transfer & explore other opportunities."

The Beavers hoped the 6-foot-8, 235-pound former three-star recruit from Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California, would be a consistent rebounder and physical force to cement their front line.
