CORVALLIS – The No. 11/11 Oregon State women's basketball team notched its fourth win over a ranked opponent this season Friday evening, as it defeated No. 18/23 Arizona State 54-45 in Tempe, Ariz.
"This was a defensive battle," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "I love the way we closed this game out down the stretch. Give credit to Arizona State, as they played a really strong game tonight. Our team has found ways to win this year, and that's what we did tonight. We got the stops that we needed, and we executed."
Senior Sydney Wiese scored 16 points on 4-for-6 shooting from 3-point range, as she played in her hometown for the first time in two years.
