STANFORD, Calif. – Missy Nunes and Hope Brandner put the Beavers up early as the Oregon State softball team won the series opener at Stanford 4-1 inside Smith Family Stadium on Friday night.
Oregon State improves to 22-17 overall and 5-8 in Pacific-12 Conference play. Meanwhile, Stanford falls to 22-17 and 2-8 in conference action.
The Beavers got the scoring started in the second inning behind Nunes' fifth home run of the year. With Camryn Ybarra safely aboard, Nunes hit a towering fly ball over the left field wall flirting with the foul line putting the Beavers up 2-0.
