Beavers still looking for consistent pass rush: Oregon State rundown

CORVALLIS — It's easy to blame Oregon State's depleted secondary for the performance of California quarterback Jared Goff, who torched the Beavers for 453 yards and six touchdowns last week.

But Beavers coach Gary Andersen always points first to the lack of pressure on the quarterback, whether OSU has rushed four or sent extra defenders on the blitz. The Beavers are currently tied for 110th nationally with 13 sacks in 10 games, a figure they will try to improve again this week against Washington and true freshman quarterback Jake Browning.

"It's frustrating, because we do it and we know we can do it and it kind of fades away," senior defensive lineman Kyle Peko said.
